Manchester United squad can ‘change’ Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s opinion, says Ruben Amorim

United coach Ruben Amorim said he and his players want to “change” how Sir Jim Ratcliff thinks of the team.

Ratcliffe, 72, told BBC Sports This Week Although he did not specify which players, some of the players in Manchester United were “not good enough” and “overpaid”.

Ratcliffe has taken Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund, Casemiro, Antony and Jadon Sancho as a transfer deal, and Ineos has “inherited” at the club and has not yet received a return.

Asked about Ratcliffe’s comment, Amorim said: “I think if we are honest at this moment, everyone – me, the player – is not doing well this season.

“I included myself in poor performance.

“You are talking about players like Casemiro winning everything and we know these players can perform better.

“He (Ratcliffe) is honest about it. The point is to change his mind and everyone’s mind.”

Amorim, who Ratcliffe described as a “outstanding young manager”, said he had good relationships on the joint board.

“I think we’re really straightforward and honest with each other, and we’re very similar in that regard,” Amorim said before his Europa League match against Real Sociedad.

“I always feel the support of the board, especially Sir Jim.”
