Wellingborough girl, 13, charged with murder of woman after fire
A 13-year-old girl has been accused of murdering a woman after a house fire.
Police said the woman’s body was found early Monday morning at the address in Fort Wheeling, Northamptonshire.
The girl, who could not be named for legal reasons, was also accused of arson attempting to endanger life, officials said.
The official identity has not been confirmed, but detectives believe the victim is Marta Bednarczyk, 43 years old.
After the autopsy, due to sharp injuries, the autopsy caused the initial cause of death.
Shortly after 03:00 GMT, police and firefighters attended the home shortly after the fire broke out.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 03:39 GMT.
A scene guard was still in place and police asked people to avoid the area.
Det Ch Insp Johnny Campbell, senior investigator for the East Midlands Special Operations Division, said he would like to thank the officials and employees who have worked “relatively” since the “very tragic incident.”
“And, especially, all our ideas are with Marta’s family, who have worked perfectly throughout the devastating days.”
