Scotland: Steve Clarke 75% sure he will exit after World Cup
Scotland faces Greece in the bifoot National League playoffs later this month, with their goal to stay in the top game of the game.
They will then try to negotiate a World Cup qualifying group that includes Portugal or Denmark, Greece and Belarus.
Scotland missed the match at Qatar’s 2022 World Cup after losing to Ukraine in the playoffs, and Clark said the next 12 months will ultimately determine his future.
“If we had a great year, went to the World Cup and did a great job in the World Cup, maybe someone would convince me to stay,” he explained.
“But at this moment, I’m glad to make my contract lower.
“I want to go to the United States. That’s the most important thing. I want to help this group of players in the United States.
“I still have 10 big games this year to determine my future progress.
“Whether I stay here or go somewhere else, the next year can decide my future.”
