Para-biathlon: Great Britain’s Scott Meenagh claims bronze in the Para-biathlon sprint

Britain’s Scott Meenagh won his first World Cup podium of the season after winning a bronze medal at Para-Biathlon Sprint in Torsby, Sweden.

Meenagh, 35, finished third in 10 minutes and 24.8 seconds, behind only the United States’ Aaron Pike, while Yerbol Khamitov of Hazakhstan won the silver color.

The podium in the last World Cup match of the season put Meenagh in the overall rankings, the best of his career.

“I’m very proud of what I’ve done today. I was under a lot of pressure on the last day because I knew not only had medals, but also were in danger throughout the World Cup.”

“I’m very proud that I was able to get a medal on the last day. The team worked so hard throughout the season to help me achieve some very consistent results. I feel like I owe them a step further and get to the podium.”
