OnePlus Is Replacing Its Alert Slider With a Button on Upcoming Phones
OnePlus said on Monday that its signature alert slider feature is transitioning to buttons, just like Apple replaced Apple with similar features Action button from iPhone 15 Pro.

Liu also mentioned that the company is OnePlus 10T omits this feature In 2022, the new button will still allow silence of the phone without waking it up.

While the OnePlus community is known to protect the design of the phone, customizable buttons are now common in new Android phones and iPhones. Apple’s $599 iPhone 16e is the lowest cost iPhone that includes customizable action buttons, and Samsung’s $800 Galaxy S25 Includes a side button that can also be mapped to specific actions or functions.
Lau hasn’t announced any new phones, including a customizable button instead of an alert slider, but the preemptive announcement seems to be able to react to that change when it arrives. OnePlus will typically be available for the winter of the year when new phones are available, but the company may debut on the phone at a more unpredictable release pace, e.g. Lower cost series.
