Home Secretary rejects Sir David Amess inquiry appeal
The Home Secretary rejected the appeal of the family of Sir David Armis, a member of the MP, to seek a public investigation into his murder.
“It’s hard to see the trial of inquiry how to surpass the terrorist killer Ali Harbi Ali, and recently published the Prevention of Learning Review.
Sir David’s daughter Katie Amess said Cooper’s words “add salt to open wounds” branding them with “unacceptable” and “insult”.
Sir David, Conservative MP for Southend West, was stabbed to death by so-called ISIS fanatic Ali during constituency surgery on October 15, 2021.
His widow, Mrs. Armes said Sir Keir Starmer should “get away and reconsider the government’s position” before meeting with the Prime Minister and the Home Secretary on Wednesday.
Katie Amess described her reaction to the letter, feeling “sad, betrayal, painful and heartbroken.”
Sir David’s family called on the Prime Minister to consider including the murder in a public investigation into the Southport killing.
Ali was referred to within seven years and stabbed 20 times at the deadly David Sir at the Belfairs Methodist Church on the Belfairs Coast.
The terrorist was sentenced to a full-person order in Old Bailey in 2022.
