Arnold Palmer Invitational: Russell Henley pips Collin Morikawa to title
Russell Henley hit an eagle with two holes to play the biggest professional title of his career at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
The Americans scored two under par finals with a 70-shot advantage in Game 11 of Bay Hill in Orlando and received a stroke from fellow compatriot Morikawa.
Henley scored two holes in the Birdies on the 12th and 14th, which put him in a battle.
He shot Morikachuan from the No. 16 green Eagle chip, and he stood out to get him out of the two-time major champion, who missed the birdie putt.
Henley, 35, told CBS that Henley was excellent at Collin, but sometimes golf was mean. ”
“I’m so nervous, so incredibly nervous. I can’t breathe right now. In this place, it’s so difficult and difficult.
“I just tried to keep it very hard. I’ve seen Tigers do a lot of putts on this green. I’ve seen Rory (McIlroy), Francesco Molinari and dechambeau win here and it’s cool, knowing I’m cool too.”
The victory is his first since the 2022 global tech champion, his fifth time on the PGA Tour and his first autograph event.
Canada’s Corey Conners ranked third under the age of nine, qualifying for the Open at Royal Porthush, while US Michael Kim was one shot behind for the fourth time.
His compatriot Keegan Bradley recorded the lowest lead score in history in the Under 29 race, but tied for fifth with Austria’s Sepp Straka with 64 points.
Ireland’s Shane Lowry – the leader in the middle of the game – hit 70 and ranked seventh with a six-point shooting percentage.
