World Grand Prix: Neil Robertson beats Stuart Bingham in Hong Kong 10-0 for second title

Neil Robertson won a clear scan in the World Grand Prix final as he won the game for the second time by beating Stuart Bingham 10-0.

The Australian won all eight frames at the opening ceremony and won the victory against former world champion Bingham when Hong Kong resumed competition.

This put the 43-year-old in the career rankings and restored him to Mark Selby’s seventh title.

The £180,000 highest award for the World Grand Prix, held for the first time outside the UK, also lifted Robertson from the world rankings to 11th place and effectively won the seeds for the world champion.

Last year, Robertson failed to win the world championship since 2004 since 2004.

When it was announced in October that Hong Kong would host its first ranking event in 35 years, Robertson said the former British colony “should always have an activity.”

He continued to win the game, winning only his second title since 2022, with rest periods of 87, 104, 71 and 59, giving him a 4-0 lead.

The lefty scored fifth and sixth frames before 78 breakouts, making it 7-0.

Bingham appeared in the finals for the first time in six years and after resting 63 in frame 8, he seemed to be planning to succeed, with only Robertson winning the Black win with a 66 shot.

Robertson completed his fourth cleaning scan in the finals of two matches, and the second time he caused the same fate at Zhou Youlong with a 9-0 victory in the 2020 European Masters final.
