Super League: Catalans Dragons beat Leeds Rhinos for first win of the season
The game is being tried, it is the home court that is properly obliged after the break.
Satae exploited James Bentley’s slip and rushed into Rhinos halfway. Leeds then recovered the ball in the subsequent stages, but Harry Newman lost the ball in contact, and despite the attention of multiple Rhino defenders, Catalans’s Smith could gather and fight in the game.
The dragon almost had the second minute. Tariq Sims’ half-time break put home runs into Rhino territory, and then Keary’s precise cross-court kick made Riley Lumb barely accessible before Tommy Makinson, thus preventing almost certain scores.
Leeds simply couldn’t get into any offensive rhythm, with the repetitive six groups empty, including a promising offense early in the fourth quarter, ending with a promise of diving Ethan Clark-Wood.
The visitor is then paid. On the final tackle, Theo Fages played a corner kick, and the ball was contested by three players.
Clark-Wood’s attempt to capture only resulted in the ball knocking back, causing Smith to gather and fall down for the second time.
As the game opened in the final minutes, the home team almost increased by one third.
Nick Cotric resumed his speculative play in the corner, looking like he could only provide feeding for the Sims to make his passes go painfully towards his mercy.
With the victory, the Catalans were ninth on the table, while Leeds remained sixth.
