NBA: LeBron James injured during LA Lakers defeat while Stephen Curry passes 25,000th career points in Golden State Warriors win
LeBron James beat Boston Celtics with a groin injury from the Los Angeles Lakers 111-101 win over the Boston Celtics.
The 40-year-old left court after a layup against Jaylen Brow.
James scored 22 points, 14 rebounds and 9 assists at a distance of 6 minutes and 44 seconds before exiting the game.
The NBA’s all-time best scorer missed 17 games in 2018 due to groin problems, but he said he “doesn’t care” about the setback.
“I’ve been there before and I know what kind of harm we’re dealing with,” James said. Passed 50,000 points Earlier this week.
“Obviously, I’m daily. I’ll look at it every day to see if it’s going to get better and take the appropriate steps to see what I need to do.”
Jayson Tatum scored 40 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists in a late rallection for the Lakers led by Slovenian Luka Doncic to ensure their fourth straight win.
Elsewhere, Stephen Curry earned 25,000 NBA career points in the Golden State Warriors’ 115-110 victory over the Detroit Pistons.
Curry became the 26th player in NBA history to enter a milestone when he scored a three-pointer in the third quarter.
The 36-year-old scored 32 points, totaling 25,017, but said he didn’t track his overall statistics.
“It was actually a surprise. I knew I was joining it, but I didn’t think about it until I heard it in the game,” Curry said.
“I think there are 10 people using a franchise, so that’s special. The names on that list are synonymous with basketball history, so that’s cool.”
