Antoine Dupont: France captain suffers cruciate knee injury in Six Nations win over Ireland

French captain Antoine Dupont ruptured the cruciate ligament in his knee during a victory in Ireland on Saturday in Les Bleus’ Six Nations.

Dupont, 28, was forced to quit in the first half on the fallen leg of Tadhg Beirne in Ireland’s second row.

Dupont posted on Instagram: “When you have to leave your friends, your heart hurts more than your knees.”

“I am proud of what we did yesterday and with all your strength you will do that.

“The rupture of the cruciate ligament. This is the beginning of a new challenge and I will see you in a few months.”

French head coach Fabien Galthi Say “angry” In the French camp, the incident was not transferred to the TV Game Official (TMO) during the game.

Galsey said DuPont is “in suffering” and he has submitted Ireland’s versus Bain and Andrew Porter to the commissioner in search of retrospective punishment.

DuPont was replaced by Maxime Lucu, France’s only defender replacement, and he was impressed that he could help LES BLEUS score 34 points to ensure they ranked six countries in their final match to Scotland on Saturday.

Galthie’s victory at Stade de France could win the top six countries since 2022.
