If you are buying premium electric shaver on the market, it is worth checking out the Philips shaver S9000 reputation. This premium model comes with Philips’ Skiniq Tech for adaptive, sophisticated shaves, highly ergonomic design and waterproofing – meaning it offers a great user experience in all aspects.
For reference, I specifically tested the SP9883/35 variant of the Philips Razor S9000 prestige – which is not cheap. It is now available in the UK and Australia and costs £699/AU$999. Thankfully, in all regions, you can’t afford to pay so much. For example, I find that prices are close to £300 from many UK retailers. Still, there’s a lot more to spend on electric shaver – is it worth it?
Well, if like me, your skin is very sensitive and get used to the irritation after a typical shave- then I would say the answer is yes. Whether I’m wet or dry shaving, the Philips Razor S9000’s reputation slides easily across my face, never feeling sharp or sharp skin – we’re always looking for it The best beard jewelry and electric shaver. But wait…and more. This easy-to-handle shaver utilizes Skiniq technology and super suspension, which means the S9000 prestigious head can adjust its power and position based on the thickness and shaving angle of the hair. Is this model perfect? Not exactly. SmartClick Trimmer – You can easily click on the top of the razor – is not the perfect choice to cut off those overgrown hair, as I found myself getting the same patched several times. And, when using the default shaver head, I still find it easier for you to get rid of my weird stragger with my manual shaver – but your mileage may vary.
Otherwise, I highly recommend this is a top option, especially if you want a razor that will work with a gentle effect. This doesn’t even mention that it’s a beautiful model with a convenient display and a one-hour battery life. It comes with a wireless charging pad. Very convenient, right?

In terms of design, it is not much better than the Philips Razor S9000. It has a high-quality metal construction of an ergonomic rubber grip, which makes the handling of the razor very easy and satisfactory.
On top of that, there is a display on the shaver face that indicates the power level used (between one and three), battery life, travel lock activation, and more. Above this screen, you will find some button controls: Power on/off, Power down and Upgrade Power. All of this gives you a pleasant visual, straightforward user experience, which is what you would expect from a razor that is so expensive.
Another important aspect of the S9000’s prestige design is the support for multiple accessories. It comes with several interchangeable heads, including the default foil shaver, smart switcher and nose cutter. These can be easily clamped and closed, and thanks to the waterproof properties of the razor, it can be cleaned quickly and directly. You can also get a brush to clean the tighter gaps – Philips has already thought of everything.
But there is more to mention in the box. First, the model comes with a self-cleaning station and a quick cleaning pod. This device can use the power clean and lubricate the razor in just one minute with the S9000 Reputation itself. Philips says it’s 10 times more effective than a simple cleaning underwater – I’m not sure I can say how precise it is, but when I try it, it does make the razor bar and span.
On top of that, there is a wireless charging pad that you can connect to a razor socket in the bathroom for some extra juice at low runs. This works great, your S9000 prestige will beep, letting you know it is building some battery life.
Finally, you can package accessories, razors, and more into an expensive carry case and include them in the S9000 prestige. It has a cold-resistant exterior and plenty of room inside to provide you with a beautiful travel companion. The original look and feel of the case is wise to show the overall quality you get. With excellent building quality, durable appearance and plenty of delicious extra features, you can get the full package with the Philips Razor S9000 Prestige.

And the shiny look is not all displayed, and this razor is also a very neat performer. First, that firm grip I mentioned ensures seamless processing, no matter your cutting angle. I found this to be a big step compared to my usual power overshoot, which can be somewhat of a challenge in a tighter, more awkward position.
But how about shaving itself? Well, the excellence here is that the S9000 reputation is not only a sleek, but also a fast operator. In just a few minutes, I was able to use double-precision rotary blades to achieve a clean shave, achieving up to 165,000 cutting moves per minute. The blades can easily grow in multiple directions in most cases. Admittedly, I do have some scatterers that are easier to remove with my manual razor, but it’s really a minor inconvenience.
The default shaver head uses some really nice techniques to ensure you get shavings like Skiniq. This technique will feel the density of hair on your face (or head) and will adapt to cutting power for a gentler shave. It also has a “super rebound” suspension system that helps the head work along every contour of your face.
All in all, this is designed to provide more efficient, but also more comfortable. Personally, this is very grateful. My skin is very sensitive and this razor technique helps reduce a lot of irritation. In addition to adaptive Skiniq technology, there is an option to manually adjust the strength of the razor – it pairs with the Hydro Skinglide coating on the default head, ensuring a much easier shaving experience.
But if I were to be more critical, I have to say that the included smart thinner trimmer is a little overwhelmed. After four days of growing up – yes, this is not my best look – I’m trying to use this trimmer on the lowest level to make myself more even and tidy. It works well, but not as efficient as I hoped, as I found myself browsing the same patch in my face several times. Again, this trimmer only has five elements to indicate the length of its cut, but I prefer the millimeter measurements, which I use on a daily basis for razors.
Meanwhile, you can get a decent battery life from the S9000 prestige. This is very different from what many high-tech electric shavers can manage. But, if you wish for more, don’t be afraid. After each shaving, you can pop the S9000 reputation onto its wireless charging pad and immediately fit. It takes three hours to fully restore the battery of this shaver – considering that wireless charging is not bad.
Philips Razor S9000 Reputation Review: Value

Well, I won’t beat up in the bushes. If we are talking about its price tag, then this razor is very, very expensive. I think it’s even too expensive. £699/au $999 is a lot of cash, especially considering that you spend a lot less than that and still very savvy razors like Braun Series 9 ProFor example.
But I brought good news. Rarely do you need to pay such as astronomy for this stylish razor. Actually, I saw it in the UK through retailers like John Lewis for nearly £300 – which is over 50% off! This really changes the picture – the S9000 reputation is worth considering within this price range. Otherwise, it’s hard to recommend – even with its advanced performance in mind.
Ultimately, the Philips Shaver S9000 reputation is durable and packaged with a gentle personalized shaving experience. If you pick it up, you’re unlikely to upgrade or replace it in the near future, which really adds weight to the value department. Although I can’t ignore its high listing price, I’m still happy to recommend this razor as it is often discounted.

I tested the Philips Razor S9000 prestige for a week to make sure to try all the various features and accessories. I usually cut my facial hair to around 2mm, so I first used a smart thinner to replicate a typical shaving procedure.
On top of that, I also tried wet dry shaves using the default head attachment. I also used the included wireless charging pad and self-cleaning station to ensure the razor meets the standards recommended by Techradar.
