Newcastle United defender Sven Botman ruled out for eight weeks with knee injury
Manager Eddie Howe said Newcastle United centreback Sven Botman will be out for eight weeks due to another knee injury.
Botman, 25, returns from 10 months of absence in January Tear his ACL March 2024, But now hurt his other knee.
Dutch International is limited to five appearances this season, and he missed Newcastle’s last five games due to a new knee injury.
The problem requires operation and will make Botman about two months.
“We’ve been trying to keep him healthy, he’s very close to the Brighton game (March 2), but the day before his knees felt it again,” Howe said.
“This week, he had the same discomfort, so it seems he had to have surgery.
“He needs a small operation to remove some liquid, and then he should be fine again.”
