James Bowen: Welsh jockey to miss Cheltenham Festival after losing ban appeal
Welsh jockey James Bowen will miss the Cheltenham Festival after appeals given to him by the Whip Review Commitcon.
Bowen, 23, won the victory in Hereford on Sunday, February 23, but was found guilty of excessive use of the whip to approach the homeland curve.
Bowen appealed the ban, but his case was dismissed by an independent discipline panel on Thursday.
The ban will be held on Tuesday, March 11 (the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival). The festival ends on Friday, March 14.
