Essex Police cleared in Allison Pearson case

An report noted that Essex police officers were “quite reasonable” when investigating journalist Allison Pearson in a social media post by the Daily Telegraph columnist.

After Pearson claimed to be commemorating her home in the county on Sunday, November, she felt “bullying and threatening”, the National Police Commissioner’s Council (NPCC) investigated the troops’ operations.

Essex police have previously defended their investigation into allegations of inciting racial hatred on social media.

Gwent’s chief police officer and NPCC hate crime chief Mark Hobrough said in his discovery that footage of a person’s camera showed that investigators’ approach to Pearson was “polite and performed in an exemplary manner.”
