Corrigan Park: Antrim’s Ulster SFC quarter-final against All-Ireland champions Armagh moved to Newry

Ulster GAA said they “sympathize with the situation of Antrim GAA”, but the Saffrons must move their Ulster senior football championship quarterfinals to the quarterfinals against Armagh.

Andy McEntee was drawn to the last eight meetings on April 12, but Ulster GAA previously said their Corrigan Park Stadium does now meet the “needed health and safety standards to fit” in the expected crowd to attend the All-Ireland Champions’ visit.

Ulster GAA has no other suitable venue in the county, saying the situation reaffirms the need to resolve the reconstruction of CASEMENT PARK because of the “urgent issues.”

The decision to play in Newry ended speculation about the venue was concluded at a meeting of the Ulster Competition Control Commission (CCC) on Tuesday afternoon.

At the last CCC meeting last month, Corrigan Park was the only venue for a match proposed by Antrim GAA representative and Saffrons Panellist Panellist Paddy McBride. “Maybe not to play”.
