Travis Kelce: Kansas City Chiefs tight end will continue playing in 2025 season
“I don’t think it’s my best outing. I let my guys down on me at more moments than I helped.
“My mouth doesn’t taste good because I ended the year, how I performed and how I was responsible for those around me. I don’t want to leave that life yet.
“I feel like I have a responsibility to play the contract I originally signed to give Kansas City and the Chiefs all I have and that’s what I’m going to do.”
Kelce helped the Chiefs reach five of the last six Super Bowls, making himself one of the best close endings in NFL history.
Chiefs General Manager speaks at the NFL’s Reconnaissance Federation Brett Vicky says Kelce “is battling very big illnesses” before the Super Bowl.
The Chiefs selected Kells with the 63rd pick in 2013.
From 2016 to 2022, he recorded over 1,000 receiving codes and was an all-pro player in every season.
Kelce has formed a productive partnership with Patrick Mahomes, who won the Super Bowl in 2020, 2023 and 2024, becoming the Chiefs’ starting quarterback.
After the regular season, the Hawks denied their unprecedented “three games” with Kelce playing 97 catches for 823 yards, his lowest yardage since 2014.
The 2025 season is scheduled to begin on September 4.
