RealMe’s Color-Changing Chameleon Phone Takes a Bath at MWC 2025
Mobile World Congress 2025 Already full Weird and weird phone calls – Some Available to purchase Some are not. The Realme 14 Pro falls into the former category and has been available since late last year, but the Barcelona Telephone Show is the first time we have witnessed the phone’s delightful party tricks.
What makes the Realme 14 Pro special is that the back of the phone can change color when exposed to cold due to the heat pigment in the shell reacting to temperature fluctuations. When the phone reaches less than 16 degrees Celsius (61 degrees Fahrenheit), vivid blue marble patterns appear on the back of the pearlescent.
To prove this on MWC, hang the phone in a storage tank that is filled with cold water when the button is clicked. The blue line starts to rotate as the phone is immersed in the buttercream shell. This amazing effect gives the phone a unique, refined and striking look.
After the water flow disappeared and warmed up again, the blue marble began to disappear, which was almost a shame because the phone looked more attractive in the cold. Color changes are obviously a novelty, but I always appreciate it when phone manufacturers inject interesting elements into their devices.
The phone’s chameleon was designed with designers from Scandinavian design studio Valeur and is known for working with aesthetic audio brand Bang & Olufsen. The Realme 14 Pro does not have the US pricing and availability listed in the list, but the mid-range device is available in the Asian market for around $265.
