Northern Superchargers sale clears Yorkshire debts – Colin Graves

Yorkshire President Colin Graves said he was “staggered” over the expense of selling a hundred northern superchargers based in Headingley.

Last month, Sun Group, owner of the Indian Premier League, Hyderabad, Agree to reach an agreement to pay only 100% of the shares in excess of £100 million.

Graves said the county would receive “50 million pounds somewhere” when the deal was closed later this month.

In eight hundred aspects, the supercharger is one of the only two aspects sold all along with the Southern Braves.

Graves told BBC North that investors paid a lot of money for the team they purchased. ”

“It’s amazing, I know it’s valuable, but it’s not that valuable.

“It’s great for cricket because 20% of the money goes into casual games, so it will help the grassroots.”

He added: “We will have enough money to clear the debt, which will be the first debt. Second, we are looking at how to protect the rest of the money and consider how to invest it in the interests of the club.

“We are in a good position now and I want to make sure Yorkshire will never get into this position again.”

The total value of the eight hundred franchises is approximately £967 million.

In 18 counties, Marybon Cricket Club (MCC) and domestic competitions totaled over £500 million.

When one hundred formats were invented, Graves was the chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Committee.

He said recent investments show that the ECB is right to adopt a new approach.

“When we launched it, a lot of people were against a hundred people. We spent two and a half years convincing county stakeholders to allow us to do that,” he said.

“I remember going to the DCMS (Digital, Culture, Media and Sports Commission) meeting and grilling why we were doing that, which would kill cricket… Today we thought it was the right thing.”
