Ferrari win case to delay Enrico Cardile’s start at Aston Martin

Aston Martin’s statement said: “This is a matter between Enrico and Ferrari and their legal representatives in Italy, and the parties continue to participate in the process.

“So we will not make any comments again. We will announce it in due course.”

Ferrari’s legal victory means that Cardile will not be able to start working at Aston Martin until it’s long before entering the team’s 2026 car development phase.

F1 will introduce new chassis and engine regulations together in 2026, one of the biggest rule changes in the sport’s history.

Cardile’s signing is one of a series of major changes for Aston Martin as owner Lawrence Stroll attempts to turn his team into a world title contender.

Legendary former Williams, McLaren and Red Bull designer Adrian Newey began serving as technical partners for Aston Martin on March 3.

Newey, considered the greatest designer in F1 history, has begun working in time to have significant opinions on the 2026 car.

Under F1 rules, the team was not allowed to start aerodynamics work on its 2026 car until early this year.

In 2026, Aston Martin will become Honda’s factory engine partner, renamed the historic sports car brand since the team changed its name to the historic sports car brand in 2022 and has been renamed for the previous racing car and Indian racing before that.

The team started working at a new factory last year, opened a new driver simulator this winter, and has built a new wind tunnel and is expected to be ready for R&D work in the coming weeks.
