Apple Gives iPhone Cases, Apple Watch Bands a Spring Makeover
Apple introduced a spring-inspired refresh to its attachment lineup on Tuesday along with new hardware. The company announced Upgrade to its iPad seriesincluding air and entry-level models. However, it also unveils fresh, vibrant colors for the Apple Watch strap and iPad and iPhone cases, such as the Apple Watch strap and case.
Apple told CNET that its iPhone 16’s silicone box selection now has four new shades: Peony (pink), Periwinkle (blue), Aquamarine (green), and Orange (orange). These cases are also available for iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Plus and iPhone 16 Pro Max, which are compatible with MAGSAFE.
Meanwhile, the iPad’s $79 smart portfolio is now available in the Sky (blue), white, watermelon (pink) and lemonade (yellow).
Several Apple Watch series have also been added to the new colors. The woven solo loop table band ($99) is now peony and aquamarine, while the solo loop ($49) is available in Periwinkle and Northern Lights (green). The $49 sports band lineup is being refreshed with Periwinkle and Tangerine, while the Sport Loop ($49) is now Sage (Green).
Periwinkle Blue is a new choice for the Apple Watch Series 10 sports band.
Jitesh Ubrani, research manager at market research firm IDC, said the new accessories are part of Apple’s regular efforts to stimulate renewed interest in certain products after purchase.
“The spring color lineup fits well with the updates in the fashion industry, where Apple can position the watch as a fashion accessory in addition to health and fitness equipment,” Ubrani told CNET. “The same can be said about the new phone case. It’s hard to say whether this will bring a needle to Apple Watch sales, but marketing helps keep the brand fresh and bring it to the forefront.”
