Irish Cup: Bangor stun Glentoran in quarter-final tie at Clandeboye

Patrick Solis Grogan started a game, denying Christie Pattison’s strike while Bangor headed straight to the other end, almost rejecting Cushnie’s efforts in the fourth minute.

Bangor’s early pressure paid off, and after Kodi Lyons-Foster performed well, they started the scoring in 14 minutes to stop Ben Arthurs’ strike from defeating from Tiarnan Mulvenna Cross. But Bangor’s top scorer Arthurs was able to bounce from close range.

Home believes that when Callum Byers found the net, they doubled their lead almost immediately, but the effort was not tolerated when he was ruled offside.

Although Mulvenna controlled Reece Neale’s drop and played for Cushnie, while the forwards found the Nets in a 25-yard game against his former club, they were able to double the lead in the 23rd minute.

In the first half, Marcus Kane and Joe Thomson were injured and forced to make two changes in the first half, trying to break Bangor’s defense, and when they broke in, their home team looked dangerous when they broke forward.

Substitute Frankie Hvid then secured vital permission on the line to deny another Arthurs goal as he tried to exploit Daniel Gyollai’s mistake, who had tried to come out and clean up Robbie Garrett’s long-term delivery.

Solis Grogan’s first half was quiet, but at the end of the first half, he comfortably saved Danny Amos’ free kick.

However, when Bangor added 44 minutes in the 44th minute, Arthurs hit captain Harrison on Neale’s pitch, who won several clever touches to control the ball and beat his mark before shooting out of the bottom left corner.
