Guinea-Bissau’s Embalo in Moscow for Trade & Partnership Talks

Guinea – Peso President Umaro Sissoco Embalo meets Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin this week to strengthen bilateral ties. The discussion is part of Moscow’s strengthening of economic and security cooperation with West and Central African countries, focusing on key sectors such as mineral resources, infrastructure, energy, agriculture and fishing. In their conversation, Putin emphasized that trade with Africa grew by 10% last year. He then expressed his desire to see cooperation growth between the two countries. In response, Embalo reiterated the long-standing “brotherhood” between the two countries. In addition to their dialogue on improving cooperation among countries, the two leaders also discussed regional and international issues.
