FA Cup: Pep Guardiola is ‘a giant’ and facing Manchester City boss an ‘honour’ for Plymouth boss Miron Muslic
Plymouth Argyle head coach Miron Muslic said that taking over Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola in the FA Cup would be “the greatest honor of my life”.
Muslic succeeded Wayne Rooney as Argyle boss in January and directed the Pilgrims to beat out of control Premier League leader Liverpool 1-0 in the final round.
The Bosnian-born Austrian brought Argyle to the bottom of the championship and within three points, which was on the side above the table before Tuesday’s next league game against Hull City.
The former Cercle Brugge boss said former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss Guardiola, who coached City to six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four EFL Cups and the 2023 Champions League, was the one he looked up to.
“I think he is the giant of our sport, a giant of a coach,” Muslic told BBC Radio Devon.
“I think he is one of the most successful coaches in sports history and one of the most successful coaches in football history.
“This is the greatest honor of my life and in my career as a coach, I am very much looking forward to shaking hands and telling him that he is the giant of our sport and a huge role model for every coach in the world.”
