Did the White House lobby help end his travel ban?
BBC News
British social media influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate, who were accused of rape, human trafficking and money laundering, were charged with rape, human trafficking and money laundering after several senior White House officials attracted interest in their case.
It is unclear what role the Donald Trump’s administration may play in the release, but one of Trump’s top envoys met with Romanian Foreign Minister Emil Hurezeanu at a security meeting in Munich earlier this month.
Andrew Tate appeared after the British reality show Big Brother and later made a series of extreme and controversial remarks on social media about women and politics.
The two run the online cam business and were charged with trafficking and rape with two Romanian female suspects in June 2023.
They also face separate, unrelated charges of rape and trafficking in the UK, as well as civil lawsuits in the US and UK. They denied all allegations that American lawyers call “slanderous and explicit falsehood.”
The brothers arrived in Florida after being banned from leaving Romania on Thursday, while the case against them is under trial.
The lawyers of the two said they will return to Bucharest for a court hearing.
What did White House officials say?
Asked about the trend at the White House on Thursday, President Trump said: “I know nothing about it.”
However, the brothers are the subject of recent high-level discussions in the United States and Romania.
Romanian officials said our colleagues filed a brother case with the Romanian government earlier this month, a story first reported by the Financial Times.
and Trump’s special envoy Richard Grenell Asked a question again At the security meeting in Munich.
Hurezeanu said the trend was mentioned during the conversation but denied being forced to release the pair.
The Tate brothers are Trump supporters and have ties to his administration.
One of Tate’s lawyers is now a White House liaison for the U.S. Department of Justice.
Paul Ingrassia is part of a team representing the Tate Brothers, who filed a libel lawsuit against several alleged victims in Florida.
Ingrassia also serves as a public relations officer for Tate and says he brings influencers to a show hosted by former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
He praised Tate in his online post. In a history in July 2023, he called Tate “a remarkable man” and he was “there are some renewed hopes for the dying west.”
Ingracia did not respond to a request for comment on Thursday.
Several people on Trump’s track also talked about these issues, including Donald Trump and Elon Musk.
Trump Jr once called Tate’s detention in Romania “absolutely insanity.”
Musk restored Andrew Tate’s account, which has been banned on X and suggested that in a joke, Tate would become the best prime minister in the UK.
“They feel safe in the United States because Donald Trump is the president,” said in a statement, who represented their attorney in the defamation case filed against several plaintiffs in Florida.
The statement said Titus and others were victims of “the legal system of weapons” and “prosecutions on politically motivated.”
McBride did not answer questions about the role (if any) played by White House officials in lifting travel restrictions on the Tate Brothers.

What is a horse ring?
Trump and his advisers know about Manosphere’s political power—a popular online subculture that attracts fans of mixed martial arts battles, video games, cryptocurrencies and other stereotypes of male pursuits.
It’s a huge scene that includes men who completely reject women’s company, a “picking artist” scene filled with tips on how to find casual connections, and a lot of mainstream podcasts and YouTube channels full of Bro-type humor.
The President’s Advisor Targeting the same audience during last year’s campaignwhen Trump, JD Vance and others on his tracks took a podcast and interviewed with new media.
The Tate Brothers’ perspective is on one of the extreme edges of Manosphere. Andrew Tate himself unsecretly describes his misogynistic-who hates and sexist views.
In podcasts and online clips, he talks about how women are property and that men should not allow their girlfriends to go out or talk to other men without them.
He describes violence against women in very graphic language and talks about how victims of sexual assault take responsibility for rape.
Tate and his brother sold the charming lifestyle of expensive real estate, cigars and luxury cars, including self-improvement messages for young people – an image that attracted his large audience before he was launched by most mainstream social media platforms.
He told the BBC in an interview in 2023: “I promote hard work, discipline. I am an athlete, I preach anti-drugs, I preach religion, I do not preach alcohol, I do not preach knife crime. I oppose every problem in modern society.”
Like many other extreme influencers, in the face of criticism, he often claims his posts as satirical or jokes, ridiculing his critics because his message spreads further and is driven by online anger.
Trump supporters split
Despite excellent accusations against them, supporters of the two were excited about his release and were eager to declare their innocence.
Others are not very enthusiastic. Four women filed a civil lawsuit against Andrew Tate, urging British authorities to “take action.”
Support for the trend is far from universal among Trump supporters and American conservatives, many of whom immediately distance themselves from the brothers.
“Florida is not where you welcome this kind of behavior,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said when landing there Thursday.
The state’s attorney general said afterward He will conduct a preliminary investigation into the trend And said Florida has “zero tolerance for human trafficking and violence against women.”
Among the conservative Washington examiners, Podcaster Brady Leonard Write: “Apart from the insignificant corners of social media elections, Tate’s annoying misogynistic brand is toxic to everyone.”
Matt Lewis, a conservative political commentator in the United States, has criticized Trump in the past, saying that on behalf of Tate, he advocated “the spirit that is now suitable for the Maga world, and that is: ‘Let us be tough guys’”.
“But I also think it’s a reasonable question, and we’ve seen it over the past few decades, it’s a problem for men… There’s a lonely pop there, and the world is spreading their feelings, which makes modernity harder to be husbands and fathers more successful. I think it’s a real psychological impact,” he said. ”
“There is a good chance for Trump supporters, who may welcome this person and may even see him as a victim of persecution.”
