Best Portable Projector for 2025
Anker Nebula Mars II Pro
Benq GS50: The size of the GS50 is roughly the same as the size of the XGIMI Halo Plus, at 1080p, with a built-in battery. You can even use it as a Bluetooth speaker. It’s more than the darker ones of Xgimi Halo Plus for similar money. Read our Benq GS50 review.
Samsung freestyle: Small cylinder freestyle is an interesting idea, but it’s short. It’s about the size of a Bluetooth speaker, and can be doubled, freestyle can rotate on its stand to project images at any height on the walls or even the ceiling. Its built-in streaming is much better implemented than most portable projectors. It lacks a battery and its performance is average at best. Worse, it costs 50% more than its appearance and performance. Read our Samsung Freestyle Review.
Xiaomi Mi Smart Projector 2: Another relatively expensive small projector we don’t like, Xiaomi at least has a gorgeous design like Apple. We appreciate the compact size, 1080p resolution and built-in Android TV streaming, but the drawbacks are greater than those of the professionals. It’s relatively dim, especially for money, which lacks both the built-in battery and the compatibility with USB power supplies, so it’s not really portable. Read our Xiaomi Mi Smart Projector 2 review.
Anker Nebula Universe Laser 4K: Due to its one handle and compact size, it is technically a cosmic laser 4K, but hardly more than 10 pounds. There is no battery either, so you need to plug it in. It’s nice and bright, but other drawbacks – lack of zoom, overall image quality and the steep price you get – keep it out. Read our Anker Nebula Universe Laser 4K Projector Review.
Anker Nebula Universe 4K SE: The design is similar to the laser 4K, it is a bit dim, but also a bit cheap. This makes its price/performance ratio even more interesting. It’s still big for the “portable” projector, but the handle makes it easy to drag. Read our Anker Nebula Cosmos 4K SE Projector Review “target=”_Blank.
BENQ HT2060: Although not technically a “portable” projector, the HT2060 is small and light. It doesn’t fit in a backpack, but if you want something on occasional movie nights, it can be stored in a closet and – when the movie is time – can be set in just a few minutes. This is ours Favorite projector. View our full review of BENQ HT2060.
