Orange Summer Challenge: Three Months to Turn an Idea into a Startup
Founded in 2011, Orange Summer Challenge (OSC) is the flagship event of the Orange Digital Center Network in the Middle East and Africa (www.orange.com). Its goal is to inspire young people to develop technology startups for the common good. The 2025 edition ended with an international ceremony in Casablanca, rewarding three promising projects.
In more than three months, 282 young innovators and entrepreneurs from 14 countries benefited from intensive support for training, mentoring and coaching provided by experts from Orange and its partners: AWS, EY and Nokia. Together, they developed 57 startups on Tech4Impact themeproviding solutions to the environmental, health, education and agricultural challenges in the region.
The second international ceremony highlights three influential startups
The awards ceremony, held in Casablanca on February 20, 2025, reveals the three winning start-ups, selected by an international jury and orange employee votes from the Middle East and Africa. The event brings together professionals, partners, media and stakeholders from the entrepreneur and academic ecosystem. The winners of this edition are:
- First Prize: Plastikoo (Madagascar) – Transform plastic waste into sustainable building materials, reducing pollution while promoting sustainable development in local communities.
- Second place: MEPS (Tunisia) – Integrated IoT solutions convert organic waste into clean biogas and fertilizers, thus aiding energy transition.
- Third Prize: Leevlong (Cameroon) – A medical remote monitoring device that allows real-time monitoring of vital signs, improving patient management.
Winners will receive financial, technical and commercial support from the Orange Digital Center and its partners. Nokia will reward ā¬40,000 for funding pre-incubation and incubation projects, while Orange will provide a ā¬20,000 bonus to support young talents engaging in these influential programs.
