Ranking Africa’s 10 Most Stable Countries in 2024

SBM Intelligence’s 2024 study attempts to rank African countries by stability. The analysis used factors such as racial tensions, coup history, food security and economic diversity to evaluate 48 countries. Based on these factors, the study identified Cape Verde, Lesotho and Tanzania as the three most stable countries on the continent. Mauritius, Liberia, South Africa and Senegal are next ranked fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh respectively. Sehechelles ranked eighth, with Namibia and Botswana taking the top two spots in the top ten. Southern Africa has become the most stable region for the second consecutive year, while Central Africa is considered the most turbulent.
