Premier League Darts results: Luke Humphries beats Luke Littler for Exeter night win
World No. 1 Luke Humphries won four Premier League nights in Exeter after defeating world champion Luke Littler 6-4.
Humphries, 30, beat the 18-year-old from 3-1, and he performed well in two early games despite having a cold.
It was a second night’s victory for league leader Humphries, who won the opener in Belfast and then lost to junior Glasgow final.
Littler finished second in the 2024 World Finals but beat him to win last year’s Premier League.
This is Humphries’ first victory in seven Premier League matches with fellow British people.
“Luke performed well tonight, he wasn’t doing well in the finals, but I managed to step on the gas like I did in the other two games at the end of the game,” Humphreys said.
“Sitting in 15 points after four weeks is a dream start for me, and hopefully I can keep pushing and keep working to ensure the top four spots because it really matters.”
Humphries hit two amazing checkouts – 167, followed by 116-beating the semifinals to beat Rob Cross 6-5.
Littler beat Nathan Aspinall 6-2 with a 109 average, ranking 112 in his opening defeat against Stephen Bunting.
The teenager hit a 10 best 11-legged Premier League format in a 6-3 win over Bunting, his own six 180s champions.
