FA Cup fifth round: ‘Not possible’ for Cardiff to be at full strength against Aston Villa
Riza said that if it weren’t for the fans, part of him would rather be eliminated in an earlier round.
“It’s great for fans and a good time for them,” Risa said.
āThey were very happy with the fact that we played in the fifth round and went to Villa. There were 6,000 fans we were very happy with it.
āI want to win and make it to the finals, but are we really going to do that?
āSometimes I think if we go out in the third round, thatās the best, but then you look and say, āLook at what we give to the fansā.
āI talked to a lot of them and they were so excited about this game, which is why I was disappointed that we werenāt able to be full and really work hard.ā
Despite Riza’s frustration, the Cardiff Camp will still be high after the vital mid-week Hull City victory.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa suffered Tuesday’s 4-1 loss at Crystal Palaceand will likely take some players before the last 16 games of the Champions League with the club.
While it is impossible to name a team that goes all out, Riza said in terms of results that ānothing is impossibleā.
“It will be a very tough game, but there is nothing impossible in football,” Riza said.
āThey will still have a complete international team on the court and thatās the depth they have.
“We have to manage the game accordingly and correctly. We have to deal with it in a way that is not easy to break down and diligently use the ball.”
