Emma Raducanu will play Indian Wells after Dubai stalking incident
During the event, Rado Canu may increase safety.
The full-time security division of the WTA is led by former U.S. Secret Service Agent Bob Campbell, who said it could provide enhanced security if players are targeted by reliable threats.
Typically, at least one security official sends the player to and from the game court.
But the Dubai incident raised questions about safety measures to protect players.
Raducanu found the man in the first few lines of the stands during a match against Karolina Muchova.
The day before, Raducanu approached the same person in a public area close to the game.
Police said he sent a letter to the 2021 U.S. Open champion, sources told BBC Sport that included his name and phone number and took photos.
After raising concerns about the WTA, the game’s safety team was informed and told to stay alert.
However, the man was still able to enter that small stadium, where Raducanu competed later that night.
