Dubai Duty Free Championshp: Karen Khachanov beats Dan Evans in first round
Britain’s Dan Evans lost to Russia’s Karen Khachanov in the first round of the Dubai Tax-free Tennis Championship.
Evans won wildcards in the game, winning five previous sessions, including the five and a half hours of classics at last year’s Usep.
However, the world number 24 Khachanov won 6-1 6-3 in one hour and 20 minutes.
He will face Greek fourth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas or Italy’s Lorenzo Sonego in the second round.
