Digital Economy: Yango Senegal Supports the Restaurant Industry

By expanding the expansion of “SuperApp”, Yango Technology Group aims to stimulate the local economy and catering industry with new food delivery.

Dakar, Senegal, February 25, 2025 – African Media Agency (AMA)/ – Yango Senegal, a subsidiary of global technology company Yango Group, announced its launch of its food delivery service in the market. It is already available in Yango Superapp, an all-in-one application that provides daily services. From now on, Yangon users in Senegal can enter the market for integrated restaurants and can soon ship their favorite dishes to their chosen locations.

The launch of YANG Foods delivery is consistent with the growth dynamics of Senegal’s digital and restaurant industry. According to the National Bureau of Statistics and Demographics (ANSD), the catering industry is experiencing sustained growth, driven by urbanization and evolving consumption habits. Thanks to Yanggo Food Delivery, partner agencies will be able to reduce their operating costs with an optimized digital infrastructure while increasing their order volume.

In addition to technological innovation, Yangon Senegal positioned itself as a key player in creating economic opportunities. The service provides a digital presentation that can reach an extended SuperApp customer base, especially for SMEs and local entrepreneurs in the restaurant industry. To support local businesses, Senegal, Yangon is exempting the commission fees for restaurants. Furthermore, this contributes to the growth of e-commerce, in line with the country’s digital transformation, where the penetration of the Internet now exceeds 89% of urban areas.

The integration of food delivery in Yango Superapp complements Senegal’s already established service portfolio. It includes a ride service launched in December 2021, which connects users with local transport providers and enables drivers to find customers. Package delivery was launched in 2022, and since then customers have benefited from clear delivery rates for motorcycles and cars, while free navigation services offer real-time traffic updates to optimize routes. This diversity reflects Yangon’s commitment to deliver comprehensive digital solutions tailored to the growing demands of users and local businesses.
