Celtic: Glasgow pressure ‘doesn’t stop’, says Brendan Rodgers after Rangers sack Philippe Clement

Celtics’ Brendan Rodgers said management in Glasgow was “constantly stressed”.

Northern Irish expressed sympathy for Philippe Clement after leaving the Belgians on Sunday.

Rodgers won Clement in four of seven old company derby meetings, including last season’s Scottish Cup final, with the Celtics in the League Cup final this semester Defeat the Wanderer too.

“Like any manager, I always feel disappointed when the manager loses his job,” Rogers said before his Scottish Premier League visit on Tuesday.

“I’m disappointed with him as a coach. I think we all know what’s going on here. You have to win and show consistency in winning.

“I’m always sad when another manager loses his job. Philippe showed he was a very good manager before entering the Rangers. He won the championship.

“He was not only a good coach, but a winning coach, and he won. Like I said, we know the conditions here.”
