Barry Ferguson: What did we learn from Rangers unveiling?
It has been almost three years since Ferguson resigned from League 1 Alloa Athletic to his last management position.
He has been in charge for nine months and has placed the club on the third-level table. Before that, he had a spell in the fourth floor and in the hearts of Clyde and Kelty.
Since then, Ferguson said he has been enjoying a “quiet life” and served as club ambassador with the Rangers and has no immediate plan to return to the canoe until the opportunity arises.
When asked if he was ready to take on such a huge job challenge, Ferguson’s response was strong and stressful.
“If I don’t, I won’t choose here,” he said.
He added: “As an ambassador I took a different route.
“Do I want to go back to coaching and management? If I’m cruelly honest, I didn’t think about it. But when the call comes, I can’t turn it off.
“I’m eager to start. Today I love being on the grass with the players and can’t wait to go to the contact line tomorrow.”
