Solheim Cup: Anna Nordqvist named Europe captain for 2026
Sweden’s Anna Nordqvist has been appointed European captain for the Solheim Cup in the Netherlands next year.
The 37-year-old three-time champion, who has played in nine Solheim Cup games, has won 17 times, and has lost three of her 35 games and lost 15.
She was the vice captain for 2023 and 2024, when the U.S. won a 15½12½ championship in Virginia, winning the trophy for the first time in seven years.
“I’m honored to be appointed,” Nordkwester said.
“Whether we win or lose, Solheim Cup has played such a big role in my career since its debut in Chicago in 2009.
“The friendship I built and the memories I created in the nine games I played made it so special that I had the opportunity to be captain of Europe in my 10th Solheim Cup.”
The 2026 competition will be held at Bernardus Golf, Cromvoirt from September 7-13.
