Jennifer Gadirova: Great British gymnast suffers ACL injury
Britain’s Jennifer Gadirova said she will “climb up the mountain again” after suffering an ACL injury.
The 20-year-old injured her knee in the national squad camp.
Gadirova finished third in the 2020 Tokyo team match but missed the 2024 match in Paris due to an ankle injury.
Her twin sister Jessica tore her ACL nine months before the Olympics began and missed the Paris Olympics.
“I learned a lot from Jesse’s journey and we certainly took a lot of precautions in preparation,” Jennifer wrote on Instagram.
“The results of my strength and landing stability are really strong, so it was a total shock and unfortunate thing.”
“This isn’t going to change my 2028 Los Angeles plan; it’s the beginning of the cycle, it’s not just how you start, it’s about how you keep growing and getting it done,” she added.
Gadirova won the silver medal in team competitions in the World and European Championships in 2022.
