Ben Cabango: Pressure lifted after ‘mad month’ for Swansea City
Cabango was announced as the club’s new captain after former captain Matt Grimes switched to champion rival Coventry City in January.
Williams then left Swansea.com Stadium on February 17, losing eight of 10 games since the beginning of the year.
But Cabango said he is enjoying the role of leading the team after the club’s turbulent spell.
“It was a crazy month, January, Grimesy Ever to, and it shocked everyone and the manager left,” Cabango said.
“I think, as a team, we just stick together. Today shows that we have a good team, and even after a few tough weeks, we really stood high and performed well today.”
On the captain, Kabago said: “I think I’ve always been a leader, I’ve been speaking on the court and I’ll do my best to help others.
“There is more responsibility and I want to be the person they are looking for and make sure the standards are constantly correct.”
Swansea returned to action on Tuesday, March 4 (19:45 GMT).
