Aston Martin in ‘better place’ as they launch 2025 F1 car says Fernando Alonso

Images of New Aston Martin were released on Sunday. The car will be briefly shaking on the Bahrain track ahead of Monday’s official F1, three-day pre-season test. The season begins with the Australian Grand Prix held in Melbourne from March 14 to 16.

Aston Martin had already launched aerodynamic designs “later than ever” before committing to the first car specifications.

This has “enabled the aviation development team to spend weeks in the wind tunnel, and we are looking forward to seeing this pace, the results and how the orbital results are related to the measurements on campus,” he said.

Cowell, former Mercedes Engine owner Joined the team in October and reorganized as the team principal in JanuaryAston Martin’s failure last season, the failure in 2023 was due to their development work, the correlation between the virtual world and the wind tunnel, and therefore could not be accurately translated into orbit.

“We have a reasonable understanding of the car last year,” he said. “And what we’ve been working on throughout the winter is trying to create a more stable car that is more predictable throughout the race, and we think it’s in the race performance In terms of things, we will reward us very well.”

Cowell said the season was “important” for the team, i.e., to determine if they knew their position of failure.

“The cars we made in Melbourne and the upgrades we made in the year will show whether we managed to piece them together,” he said.

“It is important that our tool set blends well together and be confident in these tools before the 2026 competition.”

Next year, F1 is arguably the biggest rule change ever, with new engines and new aerodynamic regulations introduced at the same time.

Meanwhile, Aston Martin will transition from using customer Mercedes Engines this year to becoming Honda’s factory team next season.

Their hope is that Newey’s arrival as a management technology partner will have significant opinions on the design for 2026 that will help the team arch the grid.

Alonso will be 45 years old as of the end of 2026.

“Fernando has always been an amazing competitor, hasn’t he?” Cowell said. “And he has a great work rate. His contribution to performance motivation is amazing.

“We are lucky that we both have Fernando and Lance on long-term contracts. That’s not a problem at the moment. Our challenge is to come up with a fast car and give them both a good job.

“Age is a number. Fernando is an amazing person today and he is very popular with our team.

“Fernando’s experience and feedback was amazing. His feedback from the simulator, exceptionally good feedback in every meeting, was surprising. And his priorities.

“We all have sins, aren’t we coming up with a list of 12 things we want to improve? Very good at it.”
