UK Indoor Championships delayed after Utilita Arena evacuated
The start of the British Track and Field Indoor Championships was delayed by an hour after evacuating Utilita Arena on Saturday morning.
Olympic bronze medalist and commentator Katharine Merry posted on social media to see smoke from the venue.

British track and field sports said on social media that audiences “will delay the opening of the venue”.
The two-day tournament is on display on site in the BBC, and the delay means that streaming of the event will not begin until 12:20 GMT.
Olympic star Katarina Johnson-Thompson and Georgia Hunter Bell are the guys fighting for the UK title this weekend.
Johnson-Thompson ended her waiting for the Olympic medal at Heptathlon Silver in Paris in 2024, where he will compete in a 60 million obstacle and shooting match.
Olympic bronze medalist Hunter Bell will seek to defend his British indoor 1500m title.
