5 people found dead in home in Lake Station, Indiana
Five people were found dead Friday afternoon at a home in Lake Station, Indiana.
Police said about 2:45 p.m., officers responded to a home in the 6700 block of 9th Avenue for welfare checks.
When they arrived, officers obtained a search warrant for the house and once inside, they found five people dead.
It is not clear whether the victims are all members of the same family, how the victim died, or whether any children were involved.
Investigators believe the situation is an isolated incident and does not immediately threaten the public.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office and Detectives are still investigating the scene Friday night.
“The Lake Station Police Department is asking the public for patience while collecting more information and notifying the appropriate person before posting any other information,” the police said in a statement on Facebook.
