Vice President Mashatile welcomes China’s plan to hold a field ministerial coordination meeting in June 2025 with the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo.
He said such events would strengthen Africa-China economic relations and accelerate projects in industrialization, infrastructure, agricultural modernization and green development, aligning with the 2063 AU agenda goals.
“Chairman, our president is inspired by the number of Chinese companies he interacted with Beijing and Shenzhen last year and they both expressed their desire to increase their investment exposure in South Africa. We continue to prioritize new investments in target areas and expand charity in South Africa. and manufacturing bases, especially in automotive and energy, will help local job creation, technology and skills transfer.”
In addition, the Vice President took this opportunity to mobilize Chinese companies to participate in this year’s Business 20 (B20) meeting in South Africa.
The chairman also invited South Africa to attend the invitation of the vice-chairman to participate in the third China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) held by CCPIT in Beijing in July this year. CISCE is one of four national trade and investment conferences held in China every year. The second CISCE was held in Beijing in November 2024, with Mr. Han Zheng, Vice President of China.
After the meeting with the Vice President, the Chairman is expected to meet with Mr. Parks Tau, Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition.
