European Union (EU) Foreign Affairs Council to discuss Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, situation in the Middle East, Iran and the Democratic Republic of the Congo

The EU’s foreign minister will be held in Brussels on February 24. Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen will represent Finland at the meeting.

The EU Foreign Commission will hold its third anniversary on the beginning of the war of aggression against Ukraine and continue to discuss the war of aggression against Ukraine by the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. The foreign minister will discuss matters including military support for Ukraine, stronger sanctions against Russia and peace negotiations.

“Peace in Ukraine must be just and lasting. Europe must play a leading role in supporting Ukraine. We must continue to support so that Ukraine can negotiate from the strongest position possible. Without Ukraine there will be no negotiations on Ukraine, without Europe there will be no such thing as Negotiations are held in Europe.

During the discussions in the Middle East, the foreign minister will focus on the situation in Gaza and sanctions on Syria and Lebanon.

“With Gaza, the EU must support the implementation of all phases of the ceasefire and hostage release. Gaza is an integral part of the Palestinian territory and must be resolved in accordance with international law so that two-state settlements against the Israeli-Palestine conflict can be promoted plan.”

The Foreign Minister will also discuss the current situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iran and Georgia.

The Foreign Affairs Commission will be after the Council of the European Union-Israel Association.

“The meeting of the European Union-Israel Association Committee will be an opportunity to discuss changes in the relationship between the Middle East and the EU and Israel, including the human rights obligations contained in the association agreement. In Gaza and its humanitarian consequences to the agenda and its humanitarian consequences It’s very important,” Valtonen said.
