Navy fires skipper of the USS Harry S. Truman, following collision near Suez Canal

The airline collided with a ship near the entrance to the Suez Canal last week, and Snowden later lifted his orders, the Navy said in a statement.
Snowden has been the captain of Truman since December 2023.
When the collision occurred, the aircraft carrier was transiting from the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea. No injuries or flooding were reported, but the Navy released a photo, according to a Navy spokesman Shows widespread harm to one side of the carrier.
According to a statement from the Navy’s Sixth Fleet, the affected areas include “the exterior walls of two storage rooms and a maintenance space.” On board, “the line processing space, the fantasy tower and the platform above a storage space are all compromised.”
Truman has been repairing the Soda Bay near Crete, Greece since Sunday.
Sean Bailey, commander of the Truman strike team, once said that components of the carrier group are still in operation. The strike team consisted of carriers, three destroyers and a cruiser.

“Our mission has not changed and we remain committed to addressing any challenges in this dynamic and global security environment,” Bailey said.
Since September, the carrier strike group has been deployed to European waters as well as to the Middle East. Airline fighters have participated in air strikes, especially against Houthi in December, and then confronted Al Qaeda agents in Somalia earlier this month.
