To provide attempts to young audiences, Disney’s ESPN plans to add some user-generated content to its yet-unnamed flagship streaming service, which will debut later this year.
According to people familiar with the matter, while the details are still unclear, ESPN will allow subscribers to post their content at some point in the evolution of the app. The technology may not be available at launch, and the company hopes this will happen before the start of the National Football League season in September. An ESPN spokesman declined to comment.
