Bobby Portis Jr: Milwaukee Bucks forward suspended for 25 games for failing drugs test
Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis Jr was suspended for 25 games without paying for failing to pass the drug test.
The NBA confirmed that the 30-year-old tested positive for the painkiller Tramadol, a prohibited substance.
The suspension of Portis JR begins when the Little Bucks’ companions at 20:00 local time on Thursday, when the Bucks’ playoffs were hoped.
On April 8, he won’t be able to get it when the Bucks face the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 79 of the regular season.
“I’m dealing with an elbow injury and using NBA-approved medications for pain and inflammation,” Portis Jr said.
“During that time, I made an honest mistake and took unauthorized pain-relieving anti-inflammatory drugs. I felt terrible and recognized the responsibility I took to my body.
“From the bottom of my heart, I want to apologize to the Bucks, my teammates, coaches, family and fans.”
