Monaco Grand Prix: F1 drivers to be forced to make at least two pit stops
Formula One is an attempt to add fun to the Monaco Grand Prix by forcing the driver to do at least two pit stops.
In recent years, criticism of the historic race has become pedestrians, as overtaking is nearly impossible on the narrow streets of the Mediterranean Principality.
According to a statement from the FIA FIA France FIA, the boss agreed on Tuesday to “increase the number of mandatory pit stops in the race.”
The FIA said the plan will be “more discussed” in F1’s Sports Advisory Committee.
But insiders told the BBC Sport the program was to have drivers have to make two pit stops and use all three available tire compounds in Monaco races.
If wet races, the driver still has to do two stops, although the tire selection will be more flexible.
Other changes agreed by the F1 committee include FIA, F1 and 10 teams, confirming A more stringent test of the wing flexibility introduced this season.
Those on the rear wings will be introduced from next month’s Australian season, as well as on the front wings of the Spanish Grand Prix in June.
The driver cooling system will be used for races classified as dangerous heat, and has also been completed.
