Emma Raducanu: British player targeted by man who ‘exhibited fixated behaviour’
The WTA said Emma Raducanu’s goal is to “express a fixed behavior” when a man loses in the second round at the Dubai Tennis Championships.

“On Monday, February 17, a man showing fixed behavior contacted Emma Raducanu in a public area,” the Women’s Tennis Association said.
“The same guy was identified in the first few lines during Emma’s Tuesday game and was then popped up.”
The man was banned from participating in all WTA incidents and was “waiting for threat assessment”.
Raducanu reminded the referees and was comforted by the 14th seed Muchova, as the person was evacuated from the third court.
The British returned to the court to applause from the crowd and continued to play football, but beat 6-4 7-6 (8-6).

“Player safety is our top priority and recommends safety best practice recommendations for international sporting events,” the WTA said.
“The WTA is actively working with Emma and her team to ensure her well-being and provide any necessary support.
“We remain committed to working with the global game and its security teams to maintain a safe environment for all players.”
The Dubai Tennis Championship said it “fully supported” the WTA’s claim and subsequently acted by the governing bodies of the women’s games.
“The tournament security team works with the WTA security team to proactively identify and pop up the relevant individual from the stadium immediately,” the tournament organizer said.
“We support the WTA’s decisions prohibiting individuals from all WTA activities and share the long-term commitment of this trip to the welfare, safety and well-being of players.
“We thank Emma for her contribution to this year’s championship and look forward to welcoming her back next year.”
