Bus crash in Bolivia kills at least 30 people
Police said more than 30 people were killed in a bus crash on a mountain road in Bolivia.
An official said the driver may have lost control of the vehicle, causing it to fall nearly 800 meters (2,625 feet) in the southwest of Yocalla.
An official from a local hospital said in the video that 14 of them were also injured, including four children.
Bolivia’s infamous roads, especially in the mountains.
Police said the accident occurred between the cities of Potosi and Oruro.
Officials believe the crash may have been caused by speeding and the driver cannot control the bus, Colonel Victor Benavides told AFP.
It is believed to be the worst road accident reported by South American countries so far this year.
Local news outlet Unitel reported that some of the injured were in serious condition.
Fatal road accidents are common in Bolivia.
Last month, 19 people were killed when another bus drove off a bus near Potosi.
Government data shows that road accidents in the country cause an average of 1,400 people to about 12 million residents each year.
