Andrea Kimi Antonelli: Mercedes driver says week before passing his driving test was ‘hell’

To participate in F1, drivers do not need regular road permits. However, they do need to be at least 18 years of age and have obtained a super license, the sport’s governing body, FIA.

“First of all, I’m really nervous,” Anthonyri said. “That week was like hell because I was really learning and practicing because I knew I only took that picture.

“Preparations started, and then the season started and I didn’t have time to do the driving test again. So I’m happy to go past it right away.”

19-year-old British man Oliver Bearman also started his first full F1 campaign in 2025, and he made a key mistake in his first test.

“I’ve been there for the second time, and I shouldn’t say that,” Haas’s Bielman joked.

“I didn’t stop at the ‘stop sign. I didn’t burn, I slowed down, I crawled, but you should stop. We didn’t have the ‘stop’ sign on the track I saw the ‘stop’ sign for the first time. ”

The first Grand Prix of the 24 calendars will be held in Melbourne from 14 to 16 March.
